Stock Donation Commission-free Week
Scotia McLeod is offering a commission-free week March 4-7, 2024. During this time, they will sell gifts of one stock under $10,000 CAD or $10,000 USD without charging a commission. (The normal commission is $140 for gifts under $6,000; $175 for gifts between $6,001 and $9,999. People wanting to donate more than $10,000, can donate multiple stocks, as long as each is valued under $10,000.)
The PCC is happy to receive gifts of publicly traded securities for any PCC congregation or ministry. We have sent this message to everyone who has donated a gift of securities since Feb 1, 2022. If new people from your congregation would like to take advantage of this commission-free offer have them contact Maggie. She will help them navigate the paperwork and ensure everything is completed as needed. Alternatively, they can download a donation form from: https://presbyterian.ca/stewardship/planned-giving/ways-to-give-publicly-traded-securities/ and send her a copy of their information, so she can be sure it is directed to your congregation.
Securities need to be in the PCC account by the end of the day on Thursday March 7, 2024 to be eligible for the commission free week. Securities donated prior to March 4, with the donor’s instructions, will be sold during the commission free week.
