Hey everyone,
Well, I think winter (and even spring) are pretty much behind us here in Dunham which means there are lots of wonderful exciting things on the horizon in the coming months which we want to update you on and ask for your prayers.
Maisie Grace Hall
We’ve decided on her name and wanted to share it with you! Grace is the name we feel God has given to her - “a gift given from delight, one we couldn’t give ourselves.” Maisie is a name we both love and found out that in the roots of the name is the meaning “long awaited child.” And when you put it all together, it sounds like “Amazing Grace” which is really the posture of our hearts in this season with her - marvelling at the amazing extravagant grace of God in our little family! So what has she been up to? She’s moving around a ton and responds a lot to our voices. She loves music and listening to Dan read “the wind and the willows.”
Daniel Andrew Hall
Did you know his middle name was Andrew?! Well, the time has arrived - he leaves for Senegal on Friday for 10 days to teach on YWAM Fanda’s first DTS! (these are the friends we went to visit last year). If ever you want more info on what’s going on in Fanda (very exciting stuff!), reach out to us and we’d love to give you more info, or even send you their newsletter if you’re curious. Beyond that, Dan continues to serve on the leadership team of YWAM Dunham helping school leaders finish the school season well and getting preparations together for our big 50th celebrations in the fall, as well as staffing the masters program which has begun it’s prep and staff training (it will officially start in January).
Sarah Elizabeth Hall
Did you know the two Biblical women in my name also had children in their older years?! Things are going well, but I’m definitely feeling the effects of the heat and being 7 months pregnant! I’m loving the feeling though! Other than that, I’m almost done the School of Biblical Studies - one month left to go and we’re racing to the finish line. There are a few other side projects that are culminating at the same time (organizing an art show with the teens who have been working on projects all year, and an end of year celebration with our artist collective) so June will be pretty crazy for sure!
Prayer:
- That Maisie would grow well, that preparations for her birth would fall into place and that her and mom will be ready and strong for her birthday (around August 15th).
- Dan’s trip - we’re so thankful that the cost of the whole trip is covered! Please pray that God would move deeply in the hearts of the students and staff and they would leave this week feeling more confident of God’s love for them and their place in his family.
- For my sprint toward the finish line of SBS - I don’t want to miss out on what God has for me, and need wisdom to navigate properly caring for myself in the midst of that.
