Dear Innercity Intercessors,
I so appreciate your prayers, thoughts and words of encouragement over these past several months. To know that I am not alone, that hundreds of people are praying for 0IM, is such a source of strength (we send our prayer calendar to about 2,600 people each month!).
Some bullet highlights for prayer:
- Protection, safety and warmth as the brunt of winter descends upon us. We had our Christmas dinner last week, the day after the big snowfall, and we served 150 guests and 20 volunteers. It was a very moving time for me emotionally as people shared their individual stories with me. A privilege and responsibility. It has been an uncommon portion of trouble for so many.
- Our friends on the streets, youth in our programs and Veterans are, like all of us, facing increasing tensions because of the length of time we have been in the pandemic: in and out of lockdowns, ever changing regulations, and the uncertainty of what is to come. Pray for a resolution to this pervasive problem, for all of us. God is still on the throne!
- We are in process of beginning a fund-raising campaign with hopes to pay off our building at 391 Gladstone. Pray that we find the right people to approach, and that we will find resources that God has ordained to help us — the Lord Himself being our Source. Pray for 'Leadership Gifts' which could include estate planning, stocks, shares, investments and the like. I believe that God will prove Himself to be faithful in all of this.
- Pray for safety and protection for staff and volunteers as we provide front line service during and through these times, lockdowns included. That the Lord will keep all of us safe.
I took some time recently and helped Beth, our Administrator, to stuff envelopes for mailing. I read each person's name on the envelopes as I stuffed them and it gave me such joy and encouragement to recognize people who have supported 0IM over the years. I prayed over each name and envelope out loud and shared some of back stories of people I have known over the years.
I told Beth that I was praying over the envelopes, and she told me, that she prays over each and every envelope that we mail out. Each one! Beautiful! (I did not know that.)
Be blessed as we continue in 2022, and know that you are loved appreciated and that we are praying for each of you! Thank you so very much for your prayers and support! We will see this through to the other side! May you know God's love, His blessings, and His peace!
