Dear leader,
We are very thankful for the support of local churches as they partnered with us for the Ottawa Giving Project. Through your generosity we have been able to provide donations of hygiene products and winter clothing to over 80 city wide frontline organizations who serve those experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness. Although the Ottawa Giving Project was created to respond to a need during COVID lockdowns, this need will continue.
Therefore, we have decided to transition the Ottawa Giving Project into the Rideau Rockcliffe Gifts-in-Kind program. The Rideau Rockcliffe Gifts-in-Kind program has successfully distributed donations to city wide organizations for over 20 years. They are well respected in the city and have been able to distribute much needed resources through personal and large business donations. We are so thankful for their openness to incorporate the Ottawa Giving Project into their current program.
As we move into the Christmas season, your church maybe looking at ways to bring your congregation together to bless your neighbours. Organizing a collection is an easy way for all ages of your congregation to participate. If you are interested in seeing which donations are currently needed and how to drop them off please check out: The Ottawa Giving Project
There is also a need for drivers to deliver the donations. To find out how to volunteer as a delivery driver or other volunteer opportunities please check out:
Thank you for helping us reach out to our city and share Christ’s love in a practical way through the Ottawa Giving Project.
Blessings,
The Respond Ottawa team
