DID YOU KNOW ...? As a result of the pandemic, the blood donor base has been reduced by 30% and the donation centres are operating at less than 50% capacity.
Canadian Blood Services (CBS) of Ottawa has recently been appealing for help to rebuild its donor base for blood and blood products.
This is an opportunity for Christ followers to unite and demonstrate compassion in a practical way.
During Easter, we reflect on how Jesus shed his blood to save us: "God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood." (Rom. 3:25).
Similarly, we can now help save others through donating our blood. You do not have to look far, perhaps in your own family, to find someone who needed blood during a health crisis. It may have even saved their life.
Love Ottawa, CHRI and Canadian Blood Services are working in partnership and would like to ask you:
WILL YOU HELP?
You can help in two ways:
1. Donate blood or plasma
Promote the Easter Blood Drive in your church or community
Our goal is to fill hundreds of blood donation appointments between now and Easter at the two Ottawa centres of Canadian Blood Services:
1575 Carling Ave (at Churchill Ave) - for Whole Blood and Platelets (more info here )
110 Place d'Orléans Dr (beside Mark's Clothing) - for blood Plasma (more info here
